SITE SUPERVISOR
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Site Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day construction operations of a project. The Site Supervisor will engage and interact professionally with the design professionals, consultants, and the client while directing carpenters, independent subcontractors, and other construction-related personnel in planning, coordinating, and safely executing the work by the contract documents, schedule, and budget. This individual reports directly to the Project Manager (PM) or Senior Builder, as directed. The ideal candidate for this position is an experienced builder with great communication skills who is seeking a highly collaborative team.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the day-to-day construction operations on a building site, including leading and managing DTC labor resources. Acts as the PM’s primary eyes, ears, and voice in the field. Communicates with PM often throughout the day.
Ensures the build site has sufficient tools and materials for the day’s tasks.
Attend all company/client meetings as needed.
Ensure company and client satisfaction through professional appearance, expert workmanship, and polite communication.
Direct lead carpentry tasks with minimal oversight from the PM.
Advises carpenters and site assistants on the methods and materials involved in building.
Prepare full-scale layouts and conceptual sketches to ensure the accuracy and trueness of installations.
Show urgency and understanding and follow through with all client and architect interactions.
Assist PM with coordination of subcontractor scheduling and material ordering.
Responsible for efficiently and profitably using the company’s time, manpower, and materials on each project as indicated by the project schedule and budget. Maintain a productive work pace, balancing care and efficiency.
Manage the trades by directing subcontractors regarding their scope of work, answering subcontractor questions, using the PM as a resource as needed, and reporting subcontractor progress to the PM.
Implement project schedule with little or minimal direction, review and offer suggestions to the schedule as required. Anticipate and understand the sequencing of construction processes, i.e., how current construction affects future phases and vice versa.
Assist in the preparation of the project budget as requested.
Complies with federal, state, and local building codes by adhering to requirements and advising the Project Site Manager on needed actions. Directly responsible for the signing off of permits and inspections.
Responsible for maintaining a safe and clean build site complying with DTC, State, and Federal procedures, rules, and regulations.
Assures project quality control in real-time with an emphasis on eliminating rework.
Ensures operation of carpentry equipment by overseeing the completion of preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer's instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, calling for repairs, maintaining equipment inventories, and evaluating new equipment and techniques.
Maintains continuity among work resources by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs. Responsible for Daily Log entries recording site conditions, activities, and as-built details.
Review DTC and Subcontracted work to ensure the delivery of consistent and high-quality work utilizing DTC-approved methodologies and materials while weighing budget and schedule implications.
Available after hours, as is reasonable, for emergencies.
Complete the timesheet accurately, including appropriate job codes.
Responsible for self-performing carpentry work, rough and finish, as required.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Minimum of 10 years experience in general construction with excellent hands-on construction skills, including supervision experience.
Strong knowledge of building materials, methods, and tools. Thorough understanding of all areas of residential construction and the intersection of all trades required throughout the construction of a custom residential home.
Read, interpret, and build off basic sketches, diagrams, specifications, and construction drawings.
Understanding of proper safety procedures and recognition of hazards.
Extensive knowledge of Oregon building codes and energy-efficiency building models is required.
Ability to look critically at craftsmanship.
Comfortable using technology including MS Office/Google and ability to learn new software programs. Experience with Procore preferred, but not required.
Sufficient strength and physical agility to perform related duties and responsibilities, including heavy lifting.
Own sufficient personal carpentry tools to self-perform work as required.
Have reliable transportation for commuting to and from job sites.
Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
SALARY AND BENEFITS:
The Site Supervisor position is a full time position with a salary range of $90,000-$100,000 per year, DOE.
